The Gift

Today I was sitting with a young woman, 23 years old, who has suffered with fibromyalgia for several years. Only recently diagnosed, she simply thought she was “imagining things” for much of her illness, until she could literally no longer get out of bed due to her pain. For the sake of this post I’ll call her Rachel. Rachel was on 2 different addictive medications and a host of others when she began therapy, and was desperate for unique treatments that would address her pain, chronic fatigue and the “brain fog” that many individuals with fibromyalgia experience.

If neurofeedback is so effective why haven’t I heard of it before?

If I had a nickel for every time…

This evening I was sitting with a young man, I’ll call him David, who was injured in a motorcycle accident 3 years ago. Since that time David has been unable to work, suffering with severe chronic pain in his upper back, migraine headaches, “foggy” thinking, and significant disturbance in daily living (he frequently finds that he has put the milk back in the microwave instead of the refrigerator or has forgotten to turn off the stove while cooking, having once again burned his meal).
